we usually replace furniture when our needs change. what if it could adapt instead? smyrna design explores furniture that changes with its users: modular, multi-purpose, repairable and built on circular principles, so that materials stay in use for as long as possible.
in this hands-on session with OK LABs you work with leftover materials from smyrna's own design and production. you try out new shapes and functions and turn offcuts into small objects and pieces of furniture.
design for change: furniture that grows with people, and materials that get a second life. part of LOOPTOPIA, the circular economy weekend by Circular Berlin.
getting there: S-Bahn Südkreuz (S41, S42) or Julius-Leber-Brücke (S1). the venue is not barrier-free.
